Plenty of other people do voluntary work.

Less greed. More need.

They said they would take details and then get back to me with the fees.

Disgraceful.

After we told Metcalfes what the 1st solicitor said about charging £50-100 for unsuccessful case, they insisted that we had to pay for £464.68. We told them this amount is much higher than that proposed by their 1st solicitor at the beginning. I can’t believe they said they cannot find the solicitor now because he left, and we didn't have any written agreement about this amount, so they couldn't verify it.

I only called to ask advice on how to initiate a Court case and represent myself.

What a con.

It’s unbelievable. I got very angry and asked their manager: “Does is mean what your solicitors say doesn't really matter? We can’t trust their words unless they write everything they said down.” The manager replied ‘Yes’ and rudely hung up the phone on me.

First, we never asked to switch solicitor. It’s all done inside their firm without discussing with us. Second, they should take responsibility for their own employees’ action. We paid to a firm, not to a particular solicitor. It's completely unfair to the customer. Shame on them!

I said I only want advice. Why should I have to pay to do something which should be ANYBODYS right?

"I have been very impressed with the service I received from Metcalfes. From my very first call to them, they were polite, professional and timely.

We will never use them again and wouldn't recommend them to anybody. If you are thinking about using them, you may want to carry a secret recorder in your pocket for every meeting with them. Otherwise, they may just deny what they said before because their words are completely unreliable.

We had a horrible experience with their solicitor. We were trying to purchase a property in Bristol and invited Metcalfes to represent us. At the beginning, the solicitor told us if the purchase process didn't go through, he still needed to charge around £50-100 for his work if it’s not our fault. We happily agreed on that. At a later stage, the solicitor changed his job to another firm without giving us notice and automatically passed our case to one of his colleagues. It’s already unprofessional. Afterwards, the vendor of the property decided to not sell his property because he was fed up with the long process.

Communication was excellent throughout and, despite on a budget, I felt I was treated fairly and properly during the whole process. I would definitely recommend."

Justice shouldn't cost a penny.

This is why we see so much injustice because educated criminals work within the law system.
